The Path Within: an Introduction to Meditation
Begins Monday, April 25, 2016 If you are attracted to the idea of meditating I offer a gentle yet comprehensive path for beginners. I call this approach Evolutionary Meditation because it helps to advance all aspects of life. Through this practice you can begin to develop more harmony with those around you, becoming more present and centered for your family, your work, and your world. Your increased attunement and awareness can help things flow more smoothly. Meditation for just 20 minutes a day can also produce life-enhancing physical benefits. Positive health changes such as reduced stress, lowered blood pressure and enhanced immune function have been well documented in meditators; the whole body benefits from rest twice as deep as sleep. The emotions are soothed and nourished as well. Over time as you contact deeper parts of yourself you are likely to find a growing sense of peace, joy and balance accessed first within you and gradually pervading all of life. |
This course uses a conference call system where you make a simple one-hour phone call each week. During the calls I’ll be offering an overview of meditative paths; noting the commonalities within the different approaches; and suggesting a variety of techniques for beginners to choose from. Guided meditations will illustrate the various paths and will sometimes include music. There will also be time for sharing and questions (I'm also available via email for questions and concerns.) Calls are recorded for later access.
After the course, participants will have the option to join one of my ongoing meditation support groups.
